Performance 5 was the UK’s first Mazda MX-5/Roadster performance specialist, founded in 2002. We offered a range of high quality products for the MX-5 – suspension, dampers, superchargers, turbochargers, exhausts, roll bars, brakes and servicing – with the know-how and the fitting services to transform the performance and handling of an MX-5.
But time has moved on, and we've decided to concentrate on our own unique SportDrive products. These are products that have not only been designed and built completely in-house, but partly manufactured in-house, too.
Our passion for (and in-depth knowledge of) chassis dynamics naturally lead us to the design and development of a monotube damper – this is the heart of the SportDrive suspension pack. In order to provide a better platform for the suspension to work from, we also designed a frame rail reinforcement kit. Further SportDrive developments will include a brace for the rails and a properly engineered, functional roll bar.
Whilst SportDrive allows us the freedom and control of our own product range, we recognize we cannot manufacture absolutely everything. That's why it became important to seek out and partner with like-minded companies to enhance our chassis experience. One of these companies is SuperPro.
