Engine Management > ECUs

GReddy E-Manage

The E-Manage is a powerful 'Piggyback' ECU that works in conjuntion with the stock ECU to tune both fuel and spark when the stock system cannot cope with extra demands, such as adding a forced induction system. Unlike many other Piggyback ECUs, the E-Manage takes direct control of the injectors to increase fuel by increasing the injector pulse width. Tuning is accomplished by using the PC based GReddy Support Tool which allows fuel and timing correction by means of a user definable 16x16 map tables. To help tune the engine to perfection, the Support Tool allows datalogging and a live map trace. Here's a list of features applicable to the MX-5:

  • Additional Injection - Mapped via a 16x16 table (Load vs RPM) to add additional fuel via the stock injectors.
  • Ignition Timing - Mapped via a 16x16 table (Load vs RPM) to advance or retard ignition timing.
  • Airflow Meter Adjustment - Mapped via a 16x16 table (Load vs RPM) to alter the airflow signal to the stock ECU. This can be used to control bigger injectors under idle and cruise conditions.
  • Acceleration Enrichment - Mapped via a 8x8 table (TPS vs RPM) to add additional fuel needed for quick changes in engine load.
  • Sub Injection - Mapped via a 16x16 table (Load vs RPM) to control 2 additional injectors. Can also be used for mappable water injection.
  • Axilliary Output - Mapped via a 4x4 table (Load vs RPM) to control to VICS butterflies on M2 1999-2000 models.
  • Interpolation between sites.
  • Real Timing Display and Datalogging.

We supply the E-Manage as a full package using genuine GReddy hardware that includes:

  • GReddy E-Manage Blue
  • Power Harness
  • Ignition Harness
  • Injector Harness
  • GReddy Pressure Sensor (3 BAR)
  • Pressure Sensor Harness

We now supply the GReddy E-Manage as an upgrade package for all our Forced Induction kits. It is recommended that the unit be tuned with a Wideband EGO and knock sensor at the very least.

GReddy E-Manage Package - £399.00
GReddy Support Tool and Comms - £99.00

FM Link Plug-In ECU

If you want total engine control, then the FM Link is hard to beat. Flyin Miata have developed the software for the Link specifically for the MX-5 which results in a very powerful tuning tool. Installation is simple: remove the old ECU, make a few wiring changes and plug in the the FM Link ECU. It utilizes all the factory sensors and allows the use of an active knock sensor and programmable boost control (or water injection if used with a supercharger system). One of the main advantage of the FM Link ECU is the ability to control the injectors directly, making it a serious choice for those looking for 200bhp and over. Some of the advanced features include:

  • Full injection control mapped via a 16x8 table (RPM vs MAP).
  • Full ignition control mapped via a 16x8 table (RPM vs MAP).
  • Interpolation between sites.
  • Full boost control.
  • Air temperature compensation.
  • Knock control with ignition retard and zone memory.
  • Sequential injection (full on OBD-II model).
  • Closed Loop EGO control - Narrow and Wideband Sensors.
  • Autotune fuel function - Narrow and Wideband Sensors.
  • Full datalogging via DataLogLab

The FM Link package includes a Plug & Play MAP sensor (negates the use of the factory Airflow Meter), Air Temperature Sensor, Link Key Pad, ECU Board and FM software. Please see FM Link Accessories for other options.
