Handling > Suspension

The MX-5 is renowned for it's nibble handling with factory suspension components, just think of how it will handle when you upgrade them! The components below are perfect for street and light track use. If you require a more aggressive set-up, please email us for further options.

KYB AGX Shock Absorbers

These shocks are widely accepted as the best shocks for the MX-5 for the money. Easily installed with no modifications to existing hardware and adjustable for both compression and rebound. Adjustment is by means of a twist knob on the body of the shock, so there's no need to open the bonnet or boot! 8-way adjustment on M1 models, 4-way adjustment on M2M2.5 models as follows compared to the factory shocks:

New Generation Flyin' Miata Spring Set

Highly recommended. Stiffer springs normally means a harsher ride, but not with these springs matched with KYB AGXs. The 318lb/in front and 233lb/in rear rates are stiff enough to drastically improve performance without the harsh ride. The new springs have a higher ride height to help with suspension travel and grounding which results in a distance from the wheel centre to the wheel arch lip of 31.5cm at the front and 32.5cm at the rear. Maintains the front/rear rake and bias that Mazda purposed.

Flyin' Miata Spring Set, M1 & M2/M2.5 - £189.00
AGX Shocks/FM Spring Combo - £429.00

SuperPro Polyurethane Bump Stops with Boots

The OEM type bump stops on M1 models are very rigid and reduce suspension travel on a lowered car. The SuperPro bump stops are not only compressible for a softer transition but can be trimmed for better suspension travel, especially important for the rear. Includes a boot for each bump stop.

SuperPro Bump Stops/Boots, M1 only - £45.00 set of 4

Flyin' Miata Anti Roll Bars

Anti roll bars are used to make your car corner flatter and react faster by keeping weight transfer under control. FM ARBs are set up for neutral handling, but are adjustable so you can tailor the handling of your MX-5 to your own driving style (bias to understeer or oversteer). ARBs are the best way to improve handling if you want to retain you factory shock/spring set-up, or gain maximum cornering ability by matching them with uprated shocks and springs. Powdercoated sparkle grey. Includes brackets, polyurethane bushes and grease.

Solid bars front and rear. 22mm front (M1 1600, 1990-3), 25mm front (all other years), 15mm rear (all years).

Note: Caution should be taken when first using any stiffer ARBs. Although limits of handling will be higher, control on the limit will be less forgiving.
