RIP
Our old 1600. Not my fault, honest officer! |
A shape appears from the dark. |
.....but needs a new roof..... |
.....and some work inside. |
We pulled the engine out to install the turbo. It's now complete with a T28! |
This shows why it's important to drill the sump in the right place. |
A shot inside the sump. Notice the position of the drain for the turbo. |
On goes the balanced FM lightened flywheel.... |
....and the ACT XT clutch too. |
A quick shot of inside the bell housing. The clutch release fork and bearing need to be installed before it goes back on the engine. |
The polished intake complete with plug and play injectors, Jim B dual feed rail and an Auto throttle body for variable throttle position. |
'No Jim, you can't drive it yet. It hasn't got the intake manifold on!' |
These are the connectors we're using for the MoTeC loom. Very high quality, OEM looking. |
The manifold's on! Notice the new injector loom that's been made up. |
This is part of the coolant re-route. The thermostat is moved to the back of the head to allow the coolant to flow evenly through the engine. This pipe feeds the heater
matrix. |
This is the new thermostat position at the back of the head and is routed back to radiator under the inlet manifold. |
A new front mounted intercooler is fitted |
The last thing a bug will see. |
Lowering the engine into position. Quite a steep angle is required to clear the gearbox. |
Finally back in! |
It's all coming together. |
