install/tune = the relative difficulty of installing and tuning the system with one star being easiest and four stars being the most difficult.

So, which system is right for you? If you're on a limited budget the Voodoo System is the clear choice. The ease of hardware installation and simple but powerful fuelling solution makes it a true fit and forget. For more control over fuel and ignition, choose the E-Manage Turbo. This adds more complexity in tuning, but the Plug & Play harness still makes installation easy. Both systems include an o2 Clamp to avoid dangerous lean closed loop conditions under part and full throttle boost. Both of these systems are fully upgradeable to either FM2 by adding the appropriate ECU and intercooler.

For those looking for the ultimate power conversion the FM2 provides a complete package. The FM Link has a huge user base and is easy to tune with the right tools, the Hydra Nemesis being more powerful and flexible, but more complex. Unlike the Voodoo and E-Manage Turbo, these ECUs replace the OEM ECU for full control over all the engine controls and come supplied with a base map to get you started. The Hydra also includes its own unique NTK Wideband o2 sensor for intelligent Autotuning and full closed loop fuel control, the FM Link will require a separate controller and sensor, like the Zeitronix Zt-2 or Innovate LC-1, at extra cost. To protect your engine both systems include a knock sensor so that the ECU can use to retard ignition timing. The system on the Hydra is more advanced and will re-advance timing to try and retain the tuned map. If this is not possible a permanent adjustment is made on a auxiliary map which clearly shows areas of concern. Boost is controlled by the ECU and the supplied boost control solenoid.

The 'No Electronics' kit is available for you to use your own management system.

All power outputs assume a turbo exhaust is installed. You'll see 10-15bhp lower without one. 1600 models have a smaller 2.25" inlet on the stock CAT. Whilst there is no obligation to change the CAT, upgrade to a 1800 FM CAT for a full 2.5" system.

The Voodoo and E-Manage Turbo System's power output is limited by the size of the stock injectors. We recommend 12psi for a stock engine with the FM2 System for engine longevity even though GT2560R turbocharger is capable of making much more power. This is reserved for a built engine.

An uprated clutch will be required at around 170-180bhp. We recommend the SPEC range of clutches. If at any time are expecting to exceed 200bhp, you would be well advised to consider the 1800 size clutch (and therefore flywheel) due to the limits of the physical size of the 1600 clutch disc. Please contact us for further information.

Power outputs are based on the Garrett GT2560R unit. Expect full boost in the mid to high 3,000rpm range. A smaller Garrett GT2554R unit is available at no additional cost. Ultimate power is lower than the GT2560R, but it spools sooner and it's power delivery is more linear. A small modification will be require to the inner wing frame to clear the larger compressor of the GT2560R. We would not recommend a turbo bigger than the GT2560R.

P5 offer full installation and tuning of all of the above systems, and of course support. Please contact us for a detailed quotation, which will include our recommended Service Pack. All tuning is carried out by P5, not an external Company, that's why we're the UK's MX-5 Performance Specialist. We are able to bring you our full experience in this matter, whether you require a full mapping service, ECU and tuning masterclass or remote assistance. Tuning is done on the road or Rolling Road at extra cost.
